Free RBT® mock exam: 85 questions in the 2026 format
This is a full-length RBT® mock exam in the 2026 format: 85 questions, 75 scored and 10 unscored, drawn to the Test Content Outline weights of 13 / 8 / 19 / 14 / 10 / 11 scored questions across the six domains. It runs on a strict 90-minute timer by default, like exam day, and you can pick a pausable timer if you might get interrupted. When you submit, you see your count out of 75, your count in each domain, and an explanation for all 85 questions, including why each wrong option is wrong.
What this mock copies from the real exam
- Length and time. 85 questions, 90 minutes.
- Scored and unscored. 75 questions count. 10 do not. You are not told which.
- Domain weights. Scored questions follow the 2026 Test Content Outline: A 13, B 8, C 19, D 14, E 10, F 11.
- Question style. Most items are short scenarios set in sessions, homes, schools, and clinics, because that is how the exam tests whether you can apply a procedure, not just define it.
- Navigation. You can flag questions and move back and forth. On a phone, the question list opens in a drawer.
What this mock does not do
- It does not show a passing cutoff. The BACB sets the passing score per form with a modified Angoff procedure. There is no fixed percent and no per-domain minimum.
- It does not use real exam questions. Every item is original and written from our own concept library.
- It does not represent the BACB or Pearson VUE. It is an independent simulation.
How to use your result
- Look at the two domains with the lowest counts first. The results page flags them.
- Open each flagged domain's free 20-question quiz and the 15 confusable-pairs items. Read why each wrong option is wrong, not just the key.
- Re-test what you missed after three days. The paid Re-test Loop does this for you with new scenarios and a day-by-day plan.
- Take Form 2 only after you have drilled. A second mock the same day mostly repeats what you remember.
If you have not taken the 20-question quick check yet, it is a faster way to find your weak domains before committing 90 minutes.

Questions people ask
Why does an 85-question RBT practice exam only score 75 questions?
The real RBT exam has 85 questions, but only 75 count toward your score. The other 10 are unscored pilot questions that the BACB is testing for future exams. You cannot tell which 10 they are. Our mock copies this format: you answer 85, and your result shows your count out of 75 scored questions plus your count in each domain. The 10 unscored items on our mock are drawn at random by us and say nothing about the official pilot questions.
Is a 75-question RBT practice test the same as an 85-question one?
They usually mean the same exam. Some sites count only the 75 scored questions; others count all 85. The exam you sit has 85 questions on screen. Practicing with 85 trains your pacing for the full 90 minutes.
How long should I take on the RBT practice exam?
The real exam gives you 90 minutes for 85 questions, a little over one minute per question. Take at least one attempt on the strict timer so you know how the pace feels. If you might get interrupted, start with the pausable timer instead.
Does a score on this mock tell me whether I will pass?
No. The BACB sets the passing score for each exam form with a modified Angoff procedure, and it does not publish a fixed percent or a per-domain cutoff. Our practice scores do not correspond to the official passing standard. Use your mock to find which domains need work, then drill those.
Can I retake this practice exam?
Yes. Review every explanation and drill your weakest domains first, then come back after a few days. Repeating the same mock soon after mostly tests your memory of the wording, not the concepts. The paid plan adds three more mocks made of questions you have not seen.
