About BT Exam Practice

Updated 2026-11-05

BT Exam Practice is an independent study tool for the RBT® exam. We built it because the free practice sites most candidates use are still written for the old Task List, rarely explain why wrong answers are wrong, and have no memory of what you missed. We wanted a tool that diagnoses, drills, and re-tests, and that is honest about what a practice score can and cannot tell you.

We are not affiliated with the BACB or Pearson VUE. RBT® and BACB® are trademarks of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, which does not sponsor or endorse this site.

What we believe about exam prep

  • Questions first. Recalling an answer teaches more than re-reading. Everything here starts with a question.
  • Target the gap. Six domains with fixed weights means your time should go where your counts are lowest, not everywhere equally.
  • Re-test with a new scenario. Seeing the same question again tests memory of the wording. A new scenario tests the concept.
  • Explain every option. Knowing why the key is right is half of it. Knowing why each distractor is wrong is the half that stops the same mistake next time.
  • No passing cutoff. The BACB sets the passing score per exam form. We will not invent one, and we will not label you ready.

The full method and its research citations are on the method page.

How our questions are made

  1. A concept library comes first. Each concept has a definition in our own words, its common confusions, scenario examples, and a pointer to its source. Nothing is copied from BACB materials or textbooks, and nothing from other practice sites is used.
  2. Every question maps to the 2026 Test Content Outline. 43 tasks, six domains. The mapping is reviewed by a person, not left to a model.
  3. Three independent models answer each question blind. If any of them disagrees with the key, or thinks two options are defensible, or can rule out a distractor without knowing the material, the question is rejected and does not appear on the site.
  4. Questions are scenarios. Most items put you in a session and ask what is happening or what to do, because that is how the exam is written.
  5. Questions are watched after publishing. Items that nearly everyone gets right or wrong are reviewed. Two independent reports on a question take it down within 24 hours until it is checked.

Trademark and independence notice

This site uses the terms RBT and BACB descriptively to refer to the certification and the organization that issues it. The product name is BT Exam Practice. The exam's content outline, handbook, and official fees are published by the BACB; when our pages and the BACB disagree, the BACB is right, and we would like to hear about it.
